ASSESSMENT OF BLOOD CULTURE AND BLOOD PARAMETERS IN PEDIATRIC PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH PNEUMONIA

OBJECTIVE: It is recommended to take a blood culture test in pediatric patients diagnosed with pneumonia. However, the rate of pathogenic microorganisms produced tests quite low. In this study, results and some parameters hospitalized pneumonia diagnosis were evaluated.MATERIAL AND METHODS: 643 who accordance ICD10 coding whose was taken between 2016 2018 included study. The ((WBC (White Blood Count), ANC (Absolute Neutrophil AMC Monosite MPV (Mean Platelet Volume), PDW (Platelet Distribution Wide), PCT (Plateletcrit)) CRP (C-Reaktif Protein)) evaluated.RESULTS: mean age 27.1±38.2 months 41.8% female. positive 4.0% (n=26). platelet count (307.3/ml) lower than those negative (360.2/ml) (p=0.035) but no differences found levels (p = 0.095), total white cell 0.069) (p= 0.846) values. level higher <0.001) (12.7±2.6%) (10.4±1.7%). most frequently isolated pathogen Staphylococcus Hominis (n=8, 36.4%).CONCLUSIONS: detection at very low level. these patients, demonstration bacteria valuable for treatment disease choice empirical antibiotherapy. necessary conduct studies on use other diagnosis, clinical follow-up children.
